As the new year begins, it is believed that many people would like to take the time to enhance the auspiciousness of their lives. Welcoming the new year, Thai Land Complex presents an interesting option for those seeking inspiration and physical activity – offering merit-making and starting the year at the Golden Mountain.

.

Many may have heard of or even visited the Golden Mountain, but there are likely many who have not yet experienced it. The Golden Mountain is not just a standalone peak in the middle of Bangkok; it is part of the Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan, an ancient temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period. Originally known as Wat Sa Ket, the Golden Mountain was constructed during the reign of King Rama IV. It was transformed from a chedi with a twelve-sided base into a mountain with a stupa on top, serving as the base for the sacred relics. The construction was completed during the reign of King Rama V and was bestowed the name "Suwannabophit" with a height of 77 meters and over 344 steps.

.

It can be said that it is a test of both physical and spiritual strength from the beginning of the year to ascend and pay respects to the sacred relics, bringing auspiciousness to life in the new year. Besides gaining merits and blessings, there is also the reward of breathtaking panoramic views of the beautiful city of Bangkok from all directions. For those with time and a desire to accumulate even more merits, they can continue their journey to pay respects at eight more temples in the nearby area, completing the ritual of paying respects at nine temples. Wat Saket and the Golden Mountain are among the nine auspicious temples.

.

Wishing everyone a new year filled with happiness, freshness, and smoothness throughout the year.
